Media briefing via teleconference call to follow VANOC board of directors'
meeting on Friday, September 18

VANCOUVER , Sept. 17 /CNW/ - The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) will hold a media teleconference call following the conclusion of its board of directors' meeting on Friday, September 18 . The board of directors' meeting is also being conducted by conference call.

With only three scheduled meetings remaining before the Games begin, the board has given VANOC's management team the mandate to proceed with its well-developed plans and recognizes the demands on management will increase dramatically in the final months. Therefore, the board is expecting its meeting schedule to become more flexible - meetings will be subject to change from time to time in order to make the best use of the directors' time while ensuring timely review of matters that require their attention. VANOC expects board agendas will also shorten and meetings will be conducted via conference call as appropriate.
