ORILLIA, ON, April 27, 2016 /CNW/ - The members of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet have laid numerous charges in connection with a province-wide, internet child exploitation investigation.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Chief Superintendent Don BELL will announce details of the investigation. Chief BELL will be accompanied by more than 25 representatives of the Strategy's partners who were instrumental in bringing this massive investigation to a successful conclusion. Investigations included elements that were consistent with human trafficking probes.
Representatives from BOOST Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention - a multi-service agency that coordinates community responses to child abuse, and the Canadian Centre for Child Protection will also be on hand to speak about their advocacy and support for victims of child exploitation.
One-on-one interviews will be available following the formal media conference.
