EDMONTON, AB, Sept. 12, 2023 /CNW/ - TD Insurance and the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) are showcasing the results of the newest Showcase Homes initiative with newly retrofitted homes in Edmonton in high-risk areas for flooding. Flood damage, which represents more than one billion dollars in damage in the past year for Canadians, can be dramatically mitigated through awareness and consumer action.  From September 12th to 15th ICLR and TD Insurance invite members of the community to a Flood Protection Display Centre with large, working models of basement flood protection options to learn about making their homes more resilient to basement flooding.

Media are invited to attend an industry grand-opening event to see the Flood Protection Display Centre and hear from executive speakers about the impact of flood damage on the local community. Media can also participate in a tour of the homes retrofitted for this initiative.
