Media invitation - 17th Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau: Sherbrooke hosts the grand departure of the 2-day leg of the Tour
SHERBROOKE, QC, July 4, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - For a second consecutive year, actor and Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau spokesman Paul Doucet proudly invites media representatives to attend the grand departure of the 2-day leg of the Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau's cycling event. Presented by Groupe Laroche Estrie, the Sherbrooke itinerary will see 27 experienced cyclists travel 320 kilometres from Sherbrooke to Montreal in support of children with cancer.

The following people will be in attendance for the departure:
- Mr. Paul Doucet, actor and spokesman for the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau's 2-day itinerary
- Mr. Robert Pouliot, deputy mayor of the Ville de Sherbrooke
- Ms. Patricia Gauthier, general director of the CHUS
- Ms. Dany Lachance, president of the Fondation du CHUS board of directors
- Mr. Jacques Fortier, president of the CHUS board of directors
- Mr. Daniel Chassé, vice-president of the CHUS board of directors
- Dr. Josée Brossard, hemato-oncologist at the CHUS
- Ms. Céline E. Gervais, director of nursing care and co-director of clinical services at the CHUS
- Annick Gentès, age 17, heroine of the 2-day itinerary, in remission following treatment for Ewing's sarcoma
- Several children with cancer who are from the region
- Members of the medical team in oncology at the CHUS
The deputy mayor of the Ville de Sherbrooke, Mr. Robert Pouliot, and Ms. Patricia Gauthier, director general of the CHUS, will have the pleasure of welcoming the participants as they arrive in front of the faculty of medicine and health sciences at the CHUS. It's important to remember that on June 27, 2011, the Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau announced that it was donating $1 million to the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (CHUS) for purposes of updating its pediatric oncology unit.
