MONTREAL, June 4, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Representatives of the media are cordially invited to an event to recognize Fonds Éco IGA's fifth year of existence and the 500 environmental projects carried out across Quebec since its inception.
Hosted by Geneviève Rochette, this celebration will provide the opportunity to meet our Earth Day team that is dedicated to Fonds Éco IGA and representatives from organizations responsible for environmental projects carried out in the Montreal area. In addition, we will officially launch a call for tenders for an entirely new type of project.

Fonds Éco IGA is happy to be holding this celebration at the Montréal Urban Ecology Centre, an organization that was able to install their green roof with the Fonds' financial support. This roof is a concrete example of the tangible results generated by contributions from the Fonds. You will be invited to visit the roof, a true open-air micro-museum and educational demonstration resource for environmental greening and urban agriculture.

Fonds Éco IGA was launched to promote sustainable development in Quebec communities. It finances projects that respond to environmental realities and improve environmental practices. Since its inception in June 2008, Fonds Éco IGA has financed close to 500 projects in all regions of Quebec.
