Members of Air Canada Foundation, airline pilots, hospital management and some patients who will share their hospital and flight experience with the Air Canada Foundation Hospital Transportation Program will attend the event. Every year, the program allows, free of charge, the transportation of our young patients, coming from all regions of Canada, to receive medical care inaccessible in their community. Travel costs associated with the child's hospitalization are covered by the program, providing families with financial peace of mind while allowing them to focus on the health and well-being of their children. The Air Canada Foundation also made a generous $250,000 donation as part of the Exceptional Care for Exceptional Kids Campaign for the construction of the hospital and the brand-new Patient Lounge.
In addition to putting a smile on our young patients face, the Air Canada Foundation Patient Lounge was designed to reduce stress during waiting time before, during or after a medical appointment. Equipped with two Starlight game stations, this lounge is definitely made for relaxing. In addition, a new program featuring Air Canada pilots expected to take off in September will be announced.
