Media invitation - Calin Rovinescu, President and CEO of Air Canada, speaking at the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal Français
Charting a better future for Air Canada
MONTREAL, Jan. 21, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to attend the Business Luncheon of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at noon. On this occasion, Calin Rovinescu, President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada, will be the guest speaker.
A fundamental reinvention of the global airline industry is underway with the proliferation of low-cost carriers, the aggressive growth of Gulf carriers and a shift in airline alliances. Calin Rovinescu will talk about Air Canada's strategy to strengthen its position as a global player in the airline industry.
Canadian travelers are flocking to U.S. carriers at border airports at the expense of Canadian carriers and airports such as Montréal-Trudeau. Mr. Rovinescu will therefore stress the urgent need to address Canada's uncompetitive aviation infrastructure costs as a result of an exorbitant fees and charges structure imposed by government and government agencies in Canada.
