Media Invitation - Enhancing Business Vitality in Quebec's English-speaking
Community
MONTREAL, Sept. 27 /CNW Telbec/ - Representatives of the media are invited to the launch of two important documents related to entrepreneurial development in the English-speaking community of Quebec.
Stimulating Small Business Development in Quebec's English-Speaking Communities is a report on a series of focus groups of small and medium enterprises conducted across six regions of Quebec. This report identifies key recommendations to support entrepreneurial development in the English-speaking community.
The Business Vitality Initiative (BVI) Community Handbook is a bilingual tool which gauges the community's capacity for supporting entrepreneurs and expanding business growth. This action-oriented process measures the business-friendliness of a community, compares the results to other communities, helps identify strategies for improvement and launches communities into action. In February-March 2010, CEDEC successfully led a pilot of the Business Vitality Initiative in Campbell's Bay, Quebec, and facilitators have been trained to conduct the BVI in communities that have demonstrated their readiness for this process.
In addition to the release of these two documents, CEDEC will also cut the ribbon for its new CEDEC office location and introduce its new team that will work together to support and initiate community economic development and employability initiatives in the Greater Montreal Area and across Quebec.
In communities across Quebec, CEDEC shares its experience in planning and developing partnerships with the aim to strengthen local economies and employability of the English-speaking and broader community.
