Why:	Lixar has transformed 373 Coventry Road into the Lixar Mobile Warehouse, a space dedicated to and created for the art of transformation

We're the new kids on the block in our new East-end Ottawa neighbourhood and as the new kids, we wanted to connect with our neighbours in a meaningful way — through art, music and healthy lifestyles.  

To add a little music, we asked Halifax performer Ben Caplan to play at the Grand Opening today at 5:00 pm.  And, to support healthy living, we partnered with the Boys and Girls Club to help community boys and girls hit Homeruns, both on and off the baseball diamond.

Our backyard at 373 Coventry is literally a baseball park and our front yard overlooks the new Ottawa Champions field. With baseball energy abundant, it certainly made sense to explore the idea of helping community kids stay healthy and happy through baseball.

Like all good ideas, it takes great partners and a collective "can do" spirit to help turn them into something real, tangible.  No obstacles, just a whole lot of "how can we make this happen."

Lixar is in baseball terms thrilled to have the opportunity to hit #Homeruns with the Boys and Girls Club Ottawa; working closely with the East End Club through a new program called the #LixarHomerunClub.

Lixar and the Ottawa Champions will field two BGCO little league baseball teams this summer: Lixar Lightning and the Lil' Champs.  

The mandate:

• to create and support healthy activities and lifestyles
• to support mentorship and personal #homeruns and literacy through BGC homework club
• to inspire and be inspired by respectful play and genuine fun.

We'll be hosting Lixar Night at the Ottawa Champions game this evening, June 11, tickets supporting BGCO.  Hope you can make it to the game and Lixar's mobile warehouse unveiling today at 3PM.
