MONTREAL, May 8, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - On Tuesday, May 12th, the Montreal Heart Institute would like to invite you to the announcement of a landmark global research collaboration centred on personalized healthcare in cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Personalized healthcare harnesses an individual's genetic or biomarker profile to guide decisions about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Please join us to hear from Dr. Jean-Claude Tardif, Director of the Montreal Heart Institute Research Center and holder of both the Canada Research Chair in personalized and translational medicine and the Université de Montréal endowed research chair in atherosclerosis, as he shares with other scientific leaders details of the research collaboration. The research work will drive global efforts to expand our understanding of disease biology, genetics and biomarkers in cardiovascular disease and diabetes to create targeted medicines for patients.
The Montreal Heart Institute is a world-class hospital centre of excellence dedicated to care, research, teaching, prevention, rehabilitation, and the assessment of new technologies in cardiology.
