Media invitation - Open house event at the OCPM: Cap Nature Pierrefonds West, sustainable balance between preservation and urban development Français
PIERREFONDS, QC, March 23, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - The owner-developers of Cap Nature Pierrefonds West are thrilled to invite media representatives to meet them during an open house event this Sunday, March 26, 2017, within the Office de consultation publique de Montréal's (OCPM) consultations, and to interview Mr. David Cliche, spokesperson for the Cap-Nature Pierrefonds-Ouest development project.
Cap Nature Pierrefonds West is the fruit of a genuine partnership between five owner-developers, the City of Montreal and the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro, who have been actively collaborating since 2005 to design an innovative, eco-conscious project for the community's benefit.
Cap Nature Pierrefonds West is designed to preserve nearly half of the sector's natural spaces, of which 180 hectares will be used to expand the L'Anse-à-l'Orme Nature Park, which forms part of the Rivière à l'Orme ecoforest corridor, an area four times larger than Mount Royal Park.
Cap Nature Pierrefonds West also provides a sustainable solution to the West Island's residential needs through the creation of an environmentally responsible neighbourhood, in which nearly a third (30%) of dwellings will be earmarked for housing co-ops and social housing. Moreover, measures focused on active and public transportation, as well as the construction of an urban boulevard that will help alleviate traffic on the St-Jean and St-Charles boulevards.
Cap Nature Pierrefonds West is one of eight priority urban projects included in the Montreal Urban Agglomeration Land Use Development Plan, adopted in 2015 following public consultation.
