MONTREAL, May 9, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal invites members of the press to its business luncheon on Friday, May 10, 2013, at noon. On this occasion, Mr. Pierre Duchesne, Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, will be the guest speaker.
The minister Duchesne will talk about Assises nationales de la recherche et de l'innovation, an event whose goal is to set the foundations of the upcoming national research and innovation policy (Politique nationale de la recherche et de l'innovation), and major intervention axes of the future national research and innovation policy. He will give an update about the commitments unveiled as part of the summit on higher education (Sommet sur l'enseignement supérieur).
He will also address the importance of Montréal in Quebec's economic development, particularly when it comes to research and innovation.
