MONTREAL, May 21, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - To mark the 45th anniversary of Bed-in, Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth hotel invites media representatives to a press tour of the GIVE PEACE A CHANCE exhibition.
This pop up exhibition, held from 26 May to 2 June, will showcase more than 30 large photographs taken in 1969 by photographer Gerry Deiter, as well as testimonials from participants at the Bed-in.
In the spirit of collaborative action, the hotel, in partnership with National Exhibitions & Archives has invited community groups to take part in the celebrations to explore various aspects of pacifist and artistic involvement.
The inauguration will be attended by Joan Athey, author of Give Peace a Chance - John & Yoko's Bed-in for Peace; André Perry, who recorded the song Give Peace a Chance at the hotel; Béatrice Vaugrante, Executive Director, Amnistie internationale francophone Canada; Aubin Boudreau, Executive Director, Accueil Bonneau and Mario Saint-Amand, spokesperson for Accueil Bonneau.
