250 cyclists, including Honorary President Jean-Philippe Wauthier, will participate in the PROCURE Tour of Courage to help fight prostate cancer
MONTREAL, June 18, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - On behalf of PROCURE, Robin Burns, Father John Walsh and Jean Pagé invite members of the media to the 9th edition of the Walk of Courage on Sunday, June 21 at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Mayor of Montreal Denis Coderre will be the Honorary President of this 5 km walk that brings together hundreds of Quebecers to celebrate Father's Day while supporting a cause they care about. Montreal Impact President Joey Saputo and his players will join Alouettes President Mark Weightman and the team cheerleaders as well as Canadiens alumnus Gilbert Delorme in helping raise awareness about prostate cancer.
Media are also welcome to attend PROCURE's 6th annual Tour of Courage taking place on the same day with Honorary President Jean-Philippe Wauthier. 250 cyclists will participate in this fundraising event held at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, which aims to raise $350,000 to fight prostate cancer.
All proceeds from these events will go to PROCURE, the only charitable organisation in Quebec exclusively dedicated to the fight against prostate cancer through research, awareness, education and support programs for patients and their families – including a new 24/7 help line.
This year, 4,600 Quebecers will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and 1 in 7 men will be affected during their lifetime.
