Media invitation - The Montréal Cruise Committee proudly announces the docking of the Maasdam for the 10th consecutive season

• The 100,000^th passenger to disembark and to board will be feted

MONTRÉAL, May 28, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to attend the 10^th consecutive season of the Maasdam in the Port of Montréal this coming May 31. To mark this special occasion, the Montréal Cruise Committee will present a commemorative plaque to the ship's captain. Also, gifts will be presented to the 100,000^th passenger of the Maasdam to disembark at the Port of Montréal, as well at the 100,000^th passenger to board the ship for a cruise to Boston.

Special activities to mark this anniversary will take place all day long at the Cruise Terminal.

WHAT:	A ceremony to mark the 10^thconsecutive season of the Maasdam at the Port of Montréal, and the 100,000^th passenger to disembark and to board.
WHEN:	Saturday, May 31, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.  The 100,000^thpassenger to disembark is expected at about 9:00 am, and the 100,000^thpassenger to board is expected at about 1:00 pm.
WHERE:	Cruise Terminal (across from the Pointe-à-Callière Museum) Media Reception Area: The tourist information table at Dock 4 (south end of the terminal)

PHOTO OP: Photographs may be taken of the arrival and departure of the 100,000^th passengers along with the Captain of the Maasdam, and Port of Montréal and Tourisme Montréal representatives.

Confirmation required: Media wishing to attend the ceremony must RSVP before May 30 at noon to Alexandra Graveline: [email protected]. On the day of the event, a piece of ID must be presented to enter the Cruise Terminal.

Last year, the Port of Montréal welcomed 47 cruise ships and a record 55,611 passengers. Including crews, nearly 70,000 people boarded or disembarked in Montréal, 70% of whom were international tourists.
