Simple Plan to give mini-concert before the game to celebrate the event's anniversary
MONTREAL, Nov. 19, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - CN (TSX: CNR) (NYSE: CNI) announced today that the tenth edition of the CN Canadiens Alumni Challenge will be held on Nov. 22, 2014, at the Saint-Michel Arena, in Montreal. Since 2003, the CN Employees' and Pensioners' Community Fund has raised $2.1 million for charity through this event.
To mark the event's ten-year anniversary, the band Simple Plan will give a mini-concert before the game.
A team of CN employees will face off against former Montreal Canadiens players. All proceeds from this friendly match will be donated to charitable organizations supported by the CN Community Fund, notably Canadian Tire Jumpstart, the Simple Plan Foundation, and Kids Help Phone.
The CN team will face a team of former Canadiens coached by Guy Lafleur, including Guy Carbonneau, Patrice Brisebois, Stéphane Richer, and Chris Nilan.
