Media Invitation and Photo Opportunity - Sapling From Anne Frank's Chestnut
Tree To Be Planted in Montreal
MONTREAL, Sept. 23 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to a press briefing on September 27, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre in connection with the planting of a sapling from Anne Frank's famous chestnut tree.
The briefing, exclusively reserved for the media, will be followed at 5:30 p.m. by an official tree-planting ceremony to which the media are also invited. The event will take place in the presence of Lawrence S. Bergman, member for D'Arcy-McGee, as well as the representative of the Consul General for the Netherlands in Canada, Mr. Michael Polak, and Holocaust survivors.
Montreal, as the place that welcomed the third largest proportion of Holocaust survivors in the world, after Israel and New York, is the only Canadian city to have been offered a cutting from the famous tree by the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. The involvement and participation of Me Michael Vineberg of the Montreal firm Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg was key to Montreal's selection.
