LAVAL, QC, May 25, 2013 /CNW/ - Today, at The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Seminar, about 100 young amputees will attend information sessions created especially for them.

9:00 AM to 10:00 AM | PLAY AND LEARN (Duvernay Room) |
Educational games for Champs aged 5 and under allowing them to play using their artificial limbs. | |
9:00 AM to 10:00 AM | PLAYSAFE (Auteuil-vimont Room) |
Champs aged 6 to 11 will learn how to become a "Safety Ambassador" in order to raise awareness about safety among their peers. | |
10:15 AM to 11:15 AM | HEALTHY LIVING FOR AMPUTEES |

This session is packed with information on how amputees can lead healthy lives. They will get some very practical tips and advice on the day-to-day challenges of living with amputation. | |
1:00 PM to 1:30 PM | LIFE AS A CHAMP (Laval 3 Room) |
CHAMP Graduate Daniel Lanteigne, a right leg amputee, will share his many positive experiences and will explain how he has overcome his amputation to enjoy life to the fullest. | |
1:30 PM to 2:30 PM | AMPUTEES IN ACTION (Laval 3 Room) |
Champs will demonstrate the artificial limbs and devices they use for recreational activities. | |
2:45 PM to 4:00 PM | NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN ARTIFICIAL LIMBS |

Champs will attend a session on the latest developments in artificial limbs. They will learn about the various components such as ankles, electric wrists and moveable elbows. | |
3:15 PM to 4:30 PM | PERSONAL CARE (Terrebonne Room) |
This session was created to address the specific needs of multiple amputee children. Super Champs will share their experiences regarding independence at school. |
