MONTREAL, March 22, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - This weekend the Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN) will host a Community Priority Setting Conference which will be the culmination of a broad-based consultation with hundreds of English-speaking Quebecers to hear their needs and priorities for the future. The process, which builds upon the rich experience of all of Quebec's regions and sectors, culminates this weekend in a conference where some 150 community leaders and stakeholders will determine community priorities for the next five to 15 years.

The program gets underway Friday afternoon at 1:30 with a presentation entitled "Federal funding and Canada's English Linguistic Minority Communities - Finding Substantive Equality" and a report on the QCGN's Institutional Vitality Research Project. The evening will feature an informal town hall where participants will share stories about challenges and how they were addressed.
On Saturday delegates will discuss the key priorities of the English-speaking community and what strategies and actions are needed to support the vitality and sustainability of our community. The day will be capped with a keynote address by Dr. Victor Goldbloom, former Commissioner of Official Languages.
Sunday will feature an exploration of local best practices, partnerships and innovative ideas and the signing of a community declaration. For the full program of the event, click here.
