MONTREAL, June 12, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - For the next three days the Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN) will hold a jam-packed annual meeting in Montreal.
Date: | June 12 - 14, 2014 |
Where: | Le Nouvel Hotel |
1740 René-Lévesque Blvd West |
Our Annual Meeting will begin on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. with a "poster session" where QCGN members will borrow a method used by the world of science to share some of the exciting work they are doing to promote community vitality in various sectors and regions to the Network's partners and stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for reporters looking for feature topics on what is happening in various sectors and regions of Quebec.
Friday morning at 9, discussions will centre around community vitality as QCGN Members, community partners and government stakeholders discuss how community vitality can be assessed. Following a panel entitled "Measuring the sign of Vitality in your Community" we will take an in-depth look at a frame of reference for the vitality of Official-Language Minority Communities produced by Canadian Heritage. Friday will also include workshops and a "Pitching the Politicians" panel where politicians from all levels of government will share tips on community advocacy and tell us what pitches work and which ones fail.
Before the Network gets down to business during its Annual General Meeting around 11 a.m. on Saturday morning, the Priority Setting Steering Committee of the QCGN will hold a workshop on and report back on a survey on the evolving priorities of Quebec's English-speaking community.
