CHARLOTTETOWN, June 27, 2014 /CNW/ - As incoming Chair of the Council of the Federation, Prince Edward Island Premier Robert Ghiz will host the 55th Annual Premiers' Conference from August 26 to 30 at the PEI Convention Centre in Charlottetown.

Media Accreditation
Media representatives who wish to attend the 55th Annual Premiers' Conference must register online. To access the online registration system, please visit www.councilofthefederation.ca, click on the link for the 2014 Summer Meeting of Canada's Premiers and click "Media Registration". Individuals will be screened to ensure they are official media representatives. A photo-ID badge will be provided to all accredited media at the media centre in Charlottetown. Media must register by August 21, 2014.

The rate for a standard room is $174 per night, which includes complimentary wireless internet and parking. Media representatives are encouraged to make their reservations as soon as possible, but no later than Saturday, July 12.

Media Centre
A media centre will be located in the Sir John A. Macdonald Room of the PEI Convention Centre. This room will be equipped with Internet access, power outlets and television monitors. To access this room, media should enter the Delta Prince Edward Hotel through the main doors, turn right towards the PEI Convention Centre and turn left towards the media centre.

A meeting of Premiers and National Aboriginal Organization Leaders will be held on Wednesday, August 27, at the Holman Grand Hotel in Charlottetown. Details about this meeting will be issued by the Government of Prince Edward Island.
The Council of the Federation is comprised of all 13 provincial and territorial Premiers. It enables Premiers to work collaboratively to strengthen the Canadian federation by fostering a constructive relationship among the provinces and territories, and with the federal government.
