Media Notice - Canada's Premiers to Meet in Edmonton from July 17-19, 2017 - Media accreditation required Français
OTTAWA, June 6, 2017 /CNW/ - As incoming Chair of the Council of the Federation, Alberta Premier Rachel Notley will host the 2017 Summer Meeting of Canada's Premiers from July 17 to 19 at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton.
Media Accreditation
Media representatives who wish to cover the 2017 Summer Meeting of Canada's Premiers must register online. To access the online registration system, please visit www.canadaspremiers.ca, click on the link for the 2017 Summer Meeting and click "Media Registration". Media must register by July 14, 2017.
Individuals will be screened to ensure they are official media representatives. A photo-ID badge will be provided to all accredited media at the registration desk in Edmonton.
Media Accommodation
Media are responsible for making their own hotel reservations. A limited block of rooms is available at the Courtyard Marriott Edmonton Downtown (One Thornton Court, 99 Street and Jasper Avenue; located next to the Hotel Macdonald).
- Room rate: $135/night
- Reservation deadline for group rate: Friday, June 23
- To make a reservation, please call 1-800-MARRIOTT and quote "2017 Summer Meeting of Canada's Premiers".
Media Centre
A media centre will be located in the Empire Ballroom (lobby level) of the Hotel Macdonald on Wednesday, July 19. This room will be equipped with internet access, a printer and power outlets.
Unimic
A unimic will be set up in the Empire Ballroom Foyer (lobby level) of the Hotel Macdonald on Tuesday, July 18 and Wednesday, July 19.
A small work area for media will be set up in the foyer on July 18; a workstation with internet access and a printer will be available. Please note that this area will close at 4:45 pm on July 18.

A meeting of Premiers and National Indigenous Organization Leaders will be held on Monday, July 17 in Edmonton, Alberta. Details about this meeting will be issued by the Government of Alberta.
The Council of the Federation comprises all 13 provincial and territorial Premiers. It enables Premiers to work collaboratively, form closer ties, foster constructive relationships among governments, and show leadership on important issues that matter to Canadians.
