Media notice - Commemoration event to be held in Slave Lake on May 15
SLAVE LAKE, AB, May 8, 2012 /CNW/ - The Lesser Slave Lake Regional Tri-Council is organizing a commemoration event on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 to mark the one year that has passed since devastating wildfires struck the Slave Lake region in May 2011. The purpose of the event is to mark the anniversary in a way that honours the communities' spirit and respects individuals who were most affected.

Guided Media Tour
A guided tour will allow media to see first-hand the recovery that has taken place in the region, and talk to officials and residents. The tour will start and finish at the Slave Lake Multi Recreation Centre. Media are asked to pre-register by Friday, May 11 so space can be reserved on the tour bus.
