Media Opportunity - Parks Canada invites you to participate in the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Fort George! Français
NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, ON, May 21, 2013 /CNW/ - With the upcoming commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Fort George, historical interpreters representing the British, Canadian and First Nations forces of the time will be coming together at Fort George on May 25 and 26 to recreate one of the main episodes of the War of 1812 in Niagara.
As such, Parks Canada is proposing an original topic for reports and interviews on the spectacular re-enactments of these military demonstrations, which will bring together nearly 1,000 re-enactors and 10,000 spectators from Canada and the United States.
On site, you will get a behind-the-scenes tour at the Fort and meet and speak with those who will be participating in this larger than life re-enactment, and also hear stories about this epic battle from Peter Martin, Special Events Coordinator, Niagara National Historic Sites of Canada.
Please note that visual material is available upon request.
