MEDIA PHOTO-OP - AeroVelo Atlas Human Powered Helicopter to be on display at the Ontario Science Centre
TORONTO, Oct. 20, 2014 /CNW/ - Aviation history was made on June 13, 2013, when the Canadian engineered AeroVelo Atlas Human-Powered Helicopter captured the long standing AHS Sikorsky Prize with a flight lasting 64.1 seconds and reaching an altitude of 3.3 metres; video: http://bit.ly/1Fr4ggF. The helicopter has been loaned to the Ontario Science Centre and will be on display in the Weston Family Innovation Centre. Media are invited to film and photograph the installation and interview the inventors, Cameron Robertson and Todd Reichert.
Todd Reichert and Cameron Robertson, co-founders of AeroVelo Inc., spend their time pushing the limits of human potential. Their projects have taken them from human-powered helicopters to aerodynamic bicycles capable of reaching speeds of over 77 mph. The common theme is one of doing more with less: going further with limited resources. Driven by passion and challenge, their journey has led to a unique understanding of what it takes to tackle the impossible.
The loan of the AeroVelo Atlas Human Powered Helicopter and the duos' spirit fit perfectly with the Weston Family Innovation Centre's mission to inspire innovation at the Ontario Science Centre.
