Media statement from St. Michael's Hospital

TORONTO , Jan. 21 /CNW/ - St Michael's is committed to a safe and secure environment for our patients, visitors and staff. As the result of an isolated event on January 20th , we are cooperating with a police investigation of a patient alleged to have completed a drug transaction in a hospital coffee shop and further alleged to have been in possession of a prohibited firearm. This individual is now in police custody. Our security team is meeting immediately with our staff and physicians to determine what, if any, current safety measures can be improved upon.
