Media/Photo Advisory - Culture Days stages first-ever Canada-wide celebration
of arts and culture
TORONTO, April 19 /CNW/ - On Tuesday, April 20, plans for Culture Days will be unveiled at launch events featuring local arts community leaders in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Prince Edward Island. Culture Days is a free annual event designed to invite the public to celebrate arts and culture in every province and territory in Canada.
The Ontario announcement will take place in Toronto and feature performances by local artists and members of the arts community. Culture Days will call on all Ontario-based arts and cultural communities to offer free behind-the-scenes, hands-on and interactive experiences.
Culture Days takes place September 24 to 26 in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec (under the existing event Journées de la culture), New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland & Labrador; and September 17 to 19 in Alberta (under the existing event Alberta Arts Days). Dates for Nunavut, Northwest Territories and Yukon will be announced shortly. Culture Days represents the largest-ever public participation campaign undertaken by the arts and cultural community in Canada.
