MEDIA/PHOTO ADVISORY: Good Men Get a Pair
Toronto men walk in heels to help end violence against women
TORONTO, Sept. 30 /CNW/ - Today groups of men wearing high-heeled shoes will take over the city's downtown core to raise awareness - and funds - for the White Ribbon Campaign: The world's largest effort of men working to end violence against women. From noon to 2 p.m. at Yonge-Dundas Square, men will participate in the second annual Walk a Mile in her Shoes®; an event during which men literally walk one mile in women's shoes. It's a fun way to raise awareness about something that's not at all funny: Gender relations and sexual violence.
Visuals: Capture groups of men walking through Toronto's downtown core in high-heeled shoes (after they finish their warm-up!); grab candid photos of well-known supporters, including Attorney General Chris Bentley and design duo Sarah Richardson and Tommy Smythe; enjoy a musical performance by political satirists the Raging Grannies.

About The White Ribbon Campaign
The White Ribbon Campaign is the largest effort in the world of men working to end violence against women. In over sixty countries, campaigns are led by both men and women, with the focus on educating men and boys of the issue and to raise awareness toward ending violence against women. Wearing a white ribbon is a personal pledge to never commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women and girls. Wearing a white ribbon is a way of saying, "Our future has no violence against women."
