Médiasdiversité 2010 Event A Success

MONTREAL , Jan. 25 /CNW Telbec/ - The fifth edition of the Médiasdiversité event was held in Montréal on Friday, January 22nd and provided more than 300 participants the unique opportunity to make contact with private media in Québec through conferences, experimental and simulation workshops, as well as a job and training fair.

Organized by the Québec Association of Television and Radio Broadcasters (AQTR) with the collaboration of Astral Media and TVA, Médiasdiversité is an annual event committed to reflecting and representing cultural diversity in Québec private media. Médiasdiversité is intended as much for media industry decision-makers as for members of ethnocultural and Aboriginal communities and persons with disabilities who are interested in media.

In the presence of the Assistant Deputy Minister for Integration from the Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles du Québec, Ms. Claire Deronzier , and TVA's Pierre Bruneau , the $5,000 Médiasdiversité bursary was awarded to the Spanish-language Canadian television channel Nuevo Mundo Television. With its 24-hour programming, Nuevo Mundo TV aims to meet the communication, information, and entertainment needs of the Hispanic and Hispanophile communities across Canada .
