Medical Cannabis Program Helps Patients Understand the New Regulations
TORONTO, July 22, 2014 /CNW/ - medSchoolForYou.ca has launched another free online course entitled Medical Cannabis: Understanding the New Regulations (click here for immediate access). This latest education program is available for the general public and is based on an existing course created for healthcare professionals (for this version, please click here).
With over 30,000 patients currently using medical marijuana (medical cannabis) in Canada, the program aims to:
- Explain how the new regulations apply to them;
- Identify what documents they will need; and
- Prepare them to talk to their doctor and licensed producer.
"The changes in regulations can leave patients vulnerable if they are not well informed," says Dr. Danial Schecter, who runs the Cannabinoid Medical Clinic and serves as lead author of the program. "It is important that people have access to accurate information. It's much easier for patients to educate themselves in a succinct and user-friendly online course than to read through entire bodies of regulatory policy."
More than just a repository of medical information, www.medSchoolForYou.ca provides users with an interactive multimedia environment for a truly engaging educational experience - at no charge. Users can trust that the content on medSchoolForYou is credible and authoritative, as all information is based on courses accredited for healthcare professionals by patient and professional societies and Canadian medical schools.
This free online program is supported by an unrestricted educational grant. Simply go to www.medSchoolForYou.ca to access the medical marijuana program or any of the other medSchool courses such as Sports-Related Concussion and Vaccines: Not Just Kid Stuff.
