Government of Canada grants $150,000 in financial assistance to this Boisbriand enterprise
BOISBRIAND, QC, Nov. 20, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
In order to create high-quality jobs for Canadians, businesses need to be able to rely on adequate resources to develop and commercialize innovative products. The Government of Canada is therefore committed to supporting innovative Canadian enterprises. As a true economic driver, innovation is the key to success in that it generates growth that benefits businesses and communities.
Linda Lapointe, Member of Parliament for Rivière-des-Mille-Îles, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that Équipements Électro-Médicaux Économec Inc. (also known as Medical Design), has been granted $150,000 in financial assistance, in the form of a repayable contribution, to commercialize its products in the international market and acquire production equipment.
Medical Design specializes in the custom manufacturing of medical gas control and distribution systems for operating rooms and patient rooms in health care institutions, as well as high purity gases for laboratories and research centres. The company already does business in the United States and Latin America and wants to build up its marketing efforts to diversify its clientele and increase sales. This growth strategy is expected to create around 10 new jobs.
The funding awarded through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program will help the enterprise participate in trade shows, take business prospecting trips, adapt its website and buy production equipment, including hydraulic presses and special tools.
