MONTRÉAL, May 18, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - The announcement that Xavier Dolan's latest movie, Juste la fin du monde (It's Only the End of the World), will be screened in the official competition at the 2016 Cannes Festival was greeted with pride by the MELS team assigned to the production.
MELS' photochemical laboratory, one of the only ones operating in North America, and its staff's expertise were called upon to help Xavier Dolan make the movie using his preferred medium, 35mm film.
"It's always a pleasure to work on a Xavier Dolan project," said Michel Trudel, President of MELS. "We were excited that our talents, expertise and equipment were used to support the work of an immensely creative, internationally acclaimed artist of whom Quebecers are so proud. Our whole team wishes him the best of luck on his sixth appearance at the Cannes Festival."
The all-star cast of Juste la fin du monde includes big names such as Vincent Cassel, Marion Cotillard, Léa Seydoux, Nathalie Baye and Gaspard Ulliel. The movie has already been sold in many countries, prior to its screening at the 69th Cannes Festival tomorrow.
