Member of Parliament Neil Ellis Announces Investments in Arts and Culture in Prince Edward County Français
The Government of Canada supports music festival and theatre season in Picton and Wellington, Ontario
PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON, June 26, 2018 /CNW/ - Neil Ellis, Member of Parliament (Bay of Quinte) today announced that the Government of Canada is investing $15,000 in the Festival Players of Prince Edward County and $10,000 in the Prince Edward County Chamber Music Festival, through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund (CAPF). Mr. Ellis made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage.
Funding for the Festival Players of Prince Edward County will support its theatre series "Festival Players Presents," which will include a variety of dramas and cabarets performed in Wellington and Picton. Funding for the Prince Edward County Chamber Music Festival will support the festival in Picton, which features performances by Canadian classical and contemporary classical musicians, with a primary focus on chamber music.
Through the CAPF, Canadians are able to enjoy a variety of professional artistic experiences in their communities. The CAPF supports organizations that present professional arts festivals or performing arts series and organizations that offer support to artists and performers.
