TORONTO, Aug. 5, 2015 /CNW/ - Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network announced today that a record-breaking total of 3,529 units were delivered throughout the month of July. These exceptional sales results represented a month-over-month increase of 14.3% or 442 additional units, resulting in Mercedes-Benz Canada's best July ever. Year-to-date total sales now stand at 25,794 units, up 15%.
A total of 3,071 Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and luxury light trucks were retailed this month. This was ahead of last July's results by 26.4% and helped push overall sales to 22,541 vehicles this year. A total of 1,642 Mercedes-Benz passenger cars were delivered for the month, up 13.2%. This was fueled by brisk demand for the C-Class and the S-Class.
On the luxury light trucks side, sales were up by an impressive 45.8% for the month with a total of 1,429 units sold. Strong sales across the entire SUV line-up contributed to July's record-breaking success, bolstered through impressive performances by the GLA and GLK.
Mercedes-Benz Vans sales continued to grow in July with sales up 5% when compared to last year. These results helped propel year-to-date growth to 15%.
The diesel take rate for luxury light trucks was 55.2%, while permanent all-wheel drive 4MATIC™ units accounted for 91.3% of overall passenger car and light truck sales (excluding smart).
smart reported a total of 77 vehicles sold in July.
The Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division reported July sales of 1,294 units, for a year-to-date increase of 9.9% or 819 units. Year-to-year Certified Pre-Owned sales grew by 15.8% which accounts for 83.4% of the total pre-owned volume.
