Mercier Bridge: Complete Night Closure of Ramp 3 - Site work from Tuesday,
March 30, 9 p.m. to Wednesday, March 31, 5 a.m.
LONGUEUIL, QC, March 30 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) and the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) wish to inform the public that the Ramp 3 (off-ramp to Châteauguay) will be completely closed to traffic from Tuesday, March 30, 9 p.m. to Wednesday, March 31, 5 a.m.
Users driving to Châteauguay will have to take the off-ramp to La Prairie (Ramp 2), take highway 132 and do a U-turn at Old Malone light to take the service road from highway 132 to highway 138 and from there Châteauguay. Users can also continue from there and take highway 30 in direction of Châteauguay.
Road signs will be in place in order to guide traffic and point out to users the appropriate detour road.
This closure will allow the contractor to do post-tensioning work on Ramp 3 by installing steel shafts that will be anchored and tightened under the bridge structure.
Please also note that the work may be postponed due to unfavourable weather conditions, the work would then be rescheduled the following night.
