Message from the Governor General Following the Death of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand Français
OTTAWA, Oct. 13, 2016 /CNW/ - Sharon and I were saddened today to learn of the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
King Bhumibol had a long and truly remarkable 70-year reign, during which he earned the deepest respect and devotion of his people. He led his country through decades of profound—and, at times, difficult—change. His efforts to improve the lives of all Thais, particularly those of rural farmers, were appreciated and recognized internationally.
On behalf of all Canadians, I offer my deepest condolences to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit and to the entire Royal Family on this great loss. We join all of Thailand in mourning His Majesty's passing.
