Message from the Governor General of Canada on the Occasion of National Public Service Week Français
OTTAWA, June 11, 2017 /CNW/ - In the nearly seven years that I have served as governor general, I have had the opportunity to work closely alongside some extraordinary public servants. I have seen first-hand how invaluable the services they provide are. Through creative thinking, daring and innovation, public service employees are proudly doing their part to build and transform the great nation that is Canada.
There is always room for improvement, and I firmly believe that we can do better to build the smarter, more caring country to which we aspire. As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of our Confederation, in this era of profound globalization and incredible change, let us take a moment to reflect on our successes, to consider how far we have come and where we hope to go in the future.
On the occasion of National Public Service Week, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all those who keep our federal government running smoothly. Continue striving for excellence, and our future will be bright indeed!
