OTTAWA, Sept. 7, 2016 /CNW/ - Greetings to our Team Canada Paralympians in Rio de Janeiro!

I look forward to following your progress and to celebrating your successes over the next 11 days.

Each of you is an ambassador for Canada on the world stage, and a true inspiration for Canadians at home and abroad.

Your very presence at the Games is the result of a great amount of training and perseverance. All of you are outstanding athletes who have pushed the boundaries and have the drive to do better.

Your pursuit of excellence inspires others to get involved in sport and you bring us together as Canadians.

I wish you the best of luck and know that our entire country will be rooting for you as you give the performances of your lives in Brazil.
