Métis Nation of Ontario congratulates new Ontario Regional Chief RoseAnne Archibald
OTTAWA, June 29, 2018 /CNW/ - Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) President Margaret Froh is pleased to congratulate RoseAnne Archibald on being elected Ontario Regional Chief during the All Ontario Chiefs Conference hosted by Nipissing First Nation.
"On behalf of the Provisional Council of the MNO, I extend our congratulations to Regional Chief Archibald on her successful campaign and for making history by becoming the first woman chosen by the Chiefs for the position," stated President Froh, who is the first woman to serve as MNO President. "It is exciting to see women in leadership roles at these senior levels in Indigenous governments and organizations across Canada. Regional Chief Archibald brings several decades of leadership experience which will serve her and the Chiefs of Ontario very well as they continue their work to advocate on behalf of Ontario First Nations."
