Metrolinx and union representing GO bus drivers come to tentative agreement
GO Transit service to operate normally today
TORONTO, June 2, 2014 /CNW/ - Metrolinx would like to advise its customers that it has reached a tentative agreement with the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1587, the union representing GO Transit bus drivers, GO station attendants, maintenance personnel, transit safety and some office staff.
Following negotiations, both parties were able to come to terms on a tentative agreement that covers the next four years. While the agreement still needs a ratification vote from the union membership and approval from the Metrolinx Board of Directors, there will be no interruption of service to customers. GO Bus service, regular GO Train service and weekend GO Train service to Niagara and Barrie will continue to operate normally.
We would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding as we completed these negotiations.
