MFDA Hearing Panel issues Decision and Reasons (Penalty) in the matter of Stuart Gibson
TORONTO, Dec. 3, 2019 /CNW/ - A Hearing Panel of the Central Regional Council of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada ("MFDA") has issued its Decision and Reasons (Penalty) dated December 2, 2019 ("Decision and Reasons") in connection with a penalty hearing held in Toronto, Ontario on October 2, 2019 in the matter of Stuart Michael Gibson ("Respondent").
In its Decision and Reasons, the Hearing Panel announced the imposition of the following sanctions on the Respondent:
- a permanent prohibition on the authority of the Respondent to conduct securities related business in any capacity while in the employ of, or in association with, any MFDA Member;
- a fine in the amount of $100,000; and
- costs in the amount of $7,500.
