MFDA Hearing Panel issues Decision (Penalty) and Reasons in the matter Manjit Singh Cheema
TORONTO, April 29, 2020 /CNW/ - A Hearing Panel of the Pacific Regional Council of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada ("MFDA") has issued its Decision (Penalty) and Reasons dated April 28, 2020 ("Decision and Reasons") in connection with a disciplinary hearing held in Vancouver, British Columbia on November 8, 2019 and January 8, 2020 in the matter of Manjit Singh Cheema ("Respondent").
In its Decision and Reasons, the Hearing Panel imposed the following sanctions on the Respondent:
- a permanent prohibition from conducting securities related business in any capacity while in the employ of, or in association with, any MFDA Member;
- a fine in the amount of $25,000; and
- costs in the amount of $7,500.
