MFDA Hearing Panel issues Reasons for Decision in the matter of Royston Thompson
TORONTO, Sept. 5, 2018 /CNW/ - A Hearing Panel of the Central Regional Council of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada ("MFDA") has issued its Reasons for Decision dated September 4, 2018 in connection with a disciplinary hearing held in Toronto, Ontario on July 26, 2018 in the matter of Royston Nigel Kenyetta Thompson ("Respondent").
In its Reasons for Decision, the Hearing Panel confirmed the sanctions imposed on the Respondent. In particular, the Respondent:
- received a verbal reprimand;
- is suspended from conducting securities related business in any capacity while in the employ of or associated with a Member of the MFDA for a period of six months;
- shall pay costs in the amount of $2,500; and
- shall in the future comply with MFDA Rule 2.1.1.
