MFDA releases Investor Bulletin on Understanding Risk for World Investor Week and Investor Education Month
TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2019 /CNW/ - The Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (MFDA) today announced that it has published an Investor Bulletin on Understanding Risk to recognize and coincide with the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) World Investor Week and Investor Education Month.
"The MFDA is pleased to participate with IOSCO members in World Investor Week and to be part of the global campaign to raise awareness regarding the importance of investor education and protection," said Mark Gordon, President and CEO of the MFDA. "Providing tools and resources that promote informed decision making by investors is a key goal of the MFDA under its Strategic Plan."
World Investor Week takes place September 30 – October 6, 2019 by participating IOSCO members with the aim to highlight the importance of investor education given the dynamic and rapidly changing investing environment.
In addition, during Investor Education Month in October, the MFDA encourages investors to visit the Investor Section of the MFDA website where investors can access multiple investor education resources including MFDA Investor Bulletins and the MFDA Investor Bulletin on Mutual Fund Fees.
The MFDA is the self-regulatory organization for Canadian mutual fund dealers, regulating the operations, standards of practice and business conduct of its Members and their approximately 81,000 Approved Persons with a mandate to protect investors and the public interest.
