CALGARY, Jan. 17, 2019 /CNW/ - MgO Systems Ltd., a North American leader in prefabricated construction technologies and magnesium oxide based structurally insulated panels ("SIP"s), is pleased to announce two critical senior team additions and two new senior team appointments.
We are excited to welcome Ms. Meghan Perry as our new Chief Financial Officer effective January 1, 2019. Ms. Perry joins MgO Systems after a diverse finance career starting with Deloitte LLP, PROTERES Consulting and as CFO of Hop Composting Ltd. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Dalhousie University, an MBA in Global Energy Management & Sustainability from the University of Calgary and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA). Mr. Scott Jenkins, MgO Systems President, commented, "Meghan's experience with high growth technology companies will be invaluable to us as we rapidly expand our team to work with our growing list of clients in the United States and Canada. Our explosive growth to date is only exceeded by our expectations for 2019 and beyond, and Meghan will be a key member of the Senior Team leading us through this exciting period."
We are also very excited to announce the appointment of our new Vice President, Canadian Operations, Jim Pendergast. Jim has been a vital member of the MgO Systems team over the past two years responsible for financial operations, Canadian business development, strategic development and project management. Moving forward Jim will be focused on growing our Canadian business, continuing to build out our sales team, strategic partner relationships and will oversee our Canadian manufacturing expansion. His extensive executive experience with Paramount Structures, FP Genetics and Agrium in both operational and strategic capacities prior to joining MgO Systems have been vital in the past two years, and he has been a critical member of the team that has built the foundation for our future success.
Concurrent with Jim's appointment we are also extremely pleased to announce the addition of Damon Larkin as our new Production Manager effective January 7, 2019. Mr. Larkin has extensive manufacturing experience with multiple prefabricated construction technologies and was most recently the Vice President of Manufacturing for EMERCOR, a Western Canadian based manufacturer of structurally insulated panels (SIPs). He is a graduate of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology with an Automated Systems Engineering Technology focus and will be leading our manufacturing expansion and working closely with our product development team.
In addition to these announcements we are extremely pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Doug Brown, to the position of Vice President, Research and Development. Dr. Brown is a Material Scientist with a B.Sc. in Chemistry from McGill University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Calgary. Over the past two years he has been instrumental in the development of our leading-edge building technologies and will now be overseeing our expanding team of researchers and product development team members. His efforts have led to the recent filings of three significant patents for the Company in both the United States and Canada.
