Michigan Consolidated Gas Co. Seeks Release From Canadian Public Company

</pre> <p><span class="xn-location">DETROIT</span>, <span class="xn-chron">March 17</span> /CNW/ -- Michigan Consolidated Gas Co. (MichCon), the natural gas utility of DTE Energy Co., has filed an application to be released from reporting obligations under Canadian securities legislation.</p> <p/> <p>MichCon became a reporting issuer in <span class="xn-location">Canada</span> in 1997 when it filed a prospectus to issue two series of bonds, one of which has since been redeemed. MichCon merged into DTE Energy, and its outstanding debt securities are held primarily by individuals and entities outside <span class="xn-location">Canada</span>.</p> <p/> <p>If MichCon is granted the order it seeks, the company will not be required to file financial statements or other disclosure materials with the securities commissions in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
