The Government of Canada provides the Baie-Comeau company, located on the North Shore, with financial assistance
BAIE-COMEAU, QC, May 24, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Brewing beer is one of the oldest Canadian industries, and its consumption is well-established in tradition. Craft beer, in particular, has experienced a boom in recent years. Many Quebec breweries are growing, and the Government of Canada supports local brewers so that they can expand and meet the higher demand for their products, while maintaining and creating jobs.
The Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, MP for Québec and Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, has announced, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, that Microbrasserie Saint-Pancrace Inc. is receiving $289,000 in financial assistance in the form of a repayable contribution for its project to develop a new beer production plant.
Founded four years ago, Microbrasserie Saint-Pancrace produces and markets distinctive beer representative of the North Shore. With its expansion project, it aims to increase its production capacity from 1,050 to 2,500 hectolitres over time. The funds provided under the CED Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) will enable the brewery to purchase and install equipment, particularly a bottling machine and maturation tanks.
CED is one of the six regional development agencies under the responsibility of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.
