Middlefield Launches: Global Healthcare Dividend Fund

A diversified portfolio which focuses on dividend-paying securities of global healthcare-related issuers

CALGARY, Aug. 11, 2015 /CNW/ - Middlefield Group is pleased to announce the addition of the Middlefield Global Healthcare Dividend Fund to its award-winning family of mutual funds.

The Global Healthcare Dividend Fund primarily invests in dividend-paying securities of global issuers operating in, or deriving a significant portion of their revenue or earnings from, the healthcare industry. 

The Fund has a substantially similar strategy to Middlefield's highly successful Global Healthcare Dividend Fund, a closed-end fund listed on the TSX under the symbol GHC.UN. Global healthcare securities have historically generated strong risk-adjusted returns versus U.S., Canadian and global equities.  Healthcare is underrepresented in Canadian investment portfolios, representing approximately 6% of the S&P/TSX Composite Index, which highlights the importance of investing in a globally diversified portfolio for exposure to this industry.
