TORONTO, Dec. 6, 2013 /CNW/ - Canada Company congratulates three military leaders recognized Wednesday at the Women's Executive Network's (WXN) 2013 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards. Captain[N] Jill Marrack from Quebec and Lieutenant Colonel Krista Brodie from Alberta were awarded in the Public Sector Leaders category and Major Eleanor Taylor from Alberta was awarded in the Glencore Trailblazers and Trendsetters category. Canada Company nominated the three women from the Department of National Defence for WXN's awards and hosted a celebratory reception for them yesterday.
"Captain[N] Marrack, Lieutenant Colonel Brodie and Major Taylor epitomize the word 'leader'. They are international role models, inspiring girls both at home and abroad to be leaders and to serve their country," said Blake C. Goldring, Chairman of Canada Company and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, AGF Management Limited. "Canada Company congratulates these women for their outstanding achievements and applauds the Women's Executive Network for recognizing the amazing contributions that Canadian women make in today's military."
WXN's Awards, themed "What Glass Ceiling?", recognized Canada's Top 100 women to an audience of over 1,100 attendees Wednesday evening at a Gala Dinner. These Awards celebrated and highlighted the professional achievements of women across the country in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
