Minganie RCM - MFFP tour to distribute timber harvesting permits

SEPT-ÎLES, QC, Aug. 29, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Ministère des Forêts, de la Faune et des Parcs (MFFP) would like to inform the Minganie RCM population that it will be touring area municipalities between September 18 and 26, 2018, to distribute timber harvesting permits to residents of the RCM.

The permit allows residents using timber for domestic purposes to receive as much as 22.5 m³ stacked (18.75 cords 16 inches long) depending on the going rate. The permit is valid until March 31, 2019. Residents who want the permit can put in a request on the following dates at the following locations.

Kégaska	September 18, 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. Town hall
Natashquan	September 18, 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Town hall (Alfred-Vigneault)
Aguanish	September 19, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Oasis du Bel Âge residence (activity room in the basement)
Baie-Johan-Beetz	September 19, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Town hall
Havre-Saint-Pierre	September 20, 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. September 21, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Services Québec (local employment centre, 2nd floor)
Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan	September 25, 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. Town hall
Rivière-Saint-Jean	September 26, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Town hall
Rivière-au-Tonnerre	September 26, 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. Town hall

MFFP would like to remind you that a permit is mandatory to harvest timber in public forests. Like all other forest activities, timber harvesting is subject to strict rules to protect forest resources.
